The Ring Road can be done in a week of long drives or ten days of good ones. The difference is whether you stop. Iceland's new generation of design lodges means you no longer have to choose between scenery and a decent bed, and the geothermal lagoons away from the famous one are both cheaper and quieter. Weather dictates the itinerary; build in slack.
