A second trip to Paris is a better trip than the first, because you can stop performing the monuments. Base yourself in the sixth or seventh, book two restaurants properly and leave the rest of the days empty, and the city stops being a checklist. The boutique hotels on the Left Bank are smaller and more charming than the palace hotels across the river, and roughly a third of the price.
