Santorini's reputation for crowds is entirely deserved in Oia between four and nine in the evening, and entirely undeserved everywhere else. Imerovigli and Firostefani give you the same caldera drop with a fraction of the foot traffic, and the villages on the island's eastern flank are a different Greece altogether. The view you are paying for is real. The scrum around it is avoidable.
